At our core, we’re just a small gym with a big heart.
But really, we’re so much more. We are pretty sure we’ve got the best trainers in the city, and our incredible members deserve no less. We are the place where you can set aside all of your fears and insecurities while you find strength you didn’t know you had, cheered on by a remarkably diverse group of people who are doing the same thing.
We are NOT a bunch of meathead athletes. Our philosophy is more holistic, more human, and more fun than that. We are men and women, young and old, of every size, fitness level, race, religion and orientation you can think of, bringing out the best in each other. While we do routinely lie in the fetal position heaving in pools of our own sweat, we are almost always laughing while we do it. And we are always cheering each other on.
We also do a lot of things outside of the gym. No, not in a weird cult-like way, but we do things like order whole cows directly from farmers, enter races, have parties, make sausage…. and who knows what else.
Rocket was started in 2011 by Brady Collins, who had a vision about creating community through fitness. Eventually, his wife, Alyssa, got hooked and has become a driving force, in a maternal sorta way. Jeremiah Derksen is our head trainer, with a clear vision of what it means to be strong, healthy and part of a community. We may “raise” Games Athletes some day, but our driving goal isn’t competition, it’s community and strength. In all regards. And sweat. Lots of sweat.
